Regular Slotted Container
Regular slotted container boxes are known to be the most popular box design in the world as they are highly efficient and versatile. All the flaps of these boxes have the same length. Their two outer flaps, which are known to be the lengthwise flaps, typically measure about one-half the box’s width. These measurements allow all the flaps to meet at the centre of the box whenever it is closed.
Overlap Slotted Container
Corrugated boxes that come in overlap slotted container designs have flaps that have the same length. Their outer flaps overlap by an inch or more to the other flaps. This style is often used if the box length is greater than its width. This type of box is typically closed either with adhesives or staples that are driven through the overlapping area. Sealing the overlap prevents the outer flaps from being separated.
Full Overlap Slotted Container
Full overlap slotted container boxes are comprised of flaps that have the same equal length. Whenever these boxes are closed, their outer flaps usually come within one inch of complete overlap, making them great against rough handling. The overlapping flaps of these boxes are typically stacked on their bottom panel, adding some significant cushioning and protection to the products inside.
Centre Special Slotted Container
The inner and outer flaps of centre special slotted container boxes are usually cut to a different length. Both pairs of these flaps are intended to meet at the centre of the box, which makes the whole box strong. Additionally, closing the whole box makes the thickness of both the top and bottom part of the container stronger. A level base for the products is also created whenever this type of box is closed.
1-2-3 Bottom or Snap Container
All the four flaps found on 1-2-3 bottom or snap container boxes are created by die cutting. When folding this type of box, the person should fold the largest bottom panel first before folding the two end panels. If ever whole bottom panel is folded, pressure must be applied to the centre so that the flap can fit into the slot found in other panels. This type of container can be utilised in small products.
